"Getting a Grip"

CALL 01458 253 442

Getting a grip on the finances of motor-sport participation becomes more of a challenge to competitors as each season passes and can be a serious distraction from achieving success on circuits, hills and rally stages too. We know this from our mailbag and from paddock conversations throughout the year.

Equally, those who actually secure a budget frequently do not seem to understand backers' commercial imperatives. They often fail to deliver the added value to entice their supporters back again the following year. The sport has lost or not retained legions of "sponsors" because many participants simply do not recognise the fact that backers come into the sport in order to fulfil specific objectives. They expect both sides of any bargain to be met.

Call us for the next available dates for Workshops held either at Thruxton or in Somerset.

Facilitator: Roger Phillips, Managing Director, Action Resources Ltd.

A 3-hour Workshop aimed at providing an insight into what definitely won't work and what might well work in terms of securing financial backing for motor-sport in the early 21st Century.

Now in their sixth year, these popular Workshops cover:

1. a review of Action Resources' recent activities surveying the attitudes of FTSE 500 Companies, and smaller British organisations, to motor-racing;
2. how funders/investors might be encouraged to become interested in motor-sport;
3. the need to clarify objectives and to communicate the proposition succinctly;
4. drivers' potential obligations to backers;
5. why the "strategic partnership" is replacing conventional sponsorship - the new approach to funding;
6. a discussion about the likely components and characteristics of a sustained working relationship - the commercial imperatives - value-for-money - giving as well as taking;
7. identification of the personal qualities and attributes for success;
8. a suggested framework for developing a personal Action-Plan;
9. Q and A.
